To celebrate Cobham Hall’s 50th anniversary as a leading boarding and day school, the school’s governors have created several new awards for entry into the Sixth Form from September 2012.
Anniversary awards will provide substantial discounts to tuition and boarding fees and are available to girls that are able to demonstrate either outstanding ability in a chosen subject, all-round academic excellence or a high level of commitment to the Round Square Ideals.

At Cobham Hall, girls study the International Baccalaureate Diploma in a Sixth Form made up of both British and international students. Most girls board in Sixth Form. Students receiving awards are expected to be role models for other students as well as uphold and practise the values of Round Square: internationalism, democracy, environmentalism, adventure, leadership and service to others.
With strong pastoral and academic teams including the Head of Sixth Form, Form tutor, IB co-ordinator and boarding staff, studying the IB at Cobham Hall is an academically and personally enriching experience.
Students learn to balance school commitments and independent study with leisure time and the vast amount of extra-curricular activities on offer. Students receive career support and skilled and individual advice in the university application and interview process.
Scholarship students usually gain places at top universities across the UK and the world. Some of our scholarship students have gone on to gain considerable scholarships for university.
Candidates wishing to apply for an Anniversary awards will be expected to:
• Take tests in English and Mathematics.
• Take a scholarship paper in one other subject intended for Higher Level study or provide evidence of their commitment and contribution to the Round square Ideals.
• Submit references from current Head teachers or tutors.
• Attend an interview (if this is not possible, a phone or Skype interview will be arranged).
• Submit a 500-word personal statement on why she should receive the award.
The IB is an all-round qualification designed to stretch girls’ academic and creative talents and encourage individual and independent thinking and learning. The IB Diploma is an internationally recognised qualification, accepted by universities in many different countries.
Late applications for September 2012 are still being accepted by the Admissions department.
