The last week before half term is always an exciting time in the Prep School as it is Camps Week. Year 6 pupils were Abbotsholme Schoolthe first group to head off to Lea Green for three days of adventurous activities and two nights under canvas.

The activities included orienteering, low ropes course, stream walking (including the tunnel of darkness), climbing, abseiling, rock scrambling, high ropes course and the terrifying giant swing.

All the activities challenged the children to push themselves to achieve in unfamiliar situations and this group certainly rose to the challenge working together to make the most of their last junior camp.

On Wednesday it was all change with Year 6 heading back to Abbotsholme and Years 4 & 5 on their way to Lea Green.

Although the weather wasn’t always kind to them, they tackled the activities (low ropes, orienteering, canoeing, bush-bash, rock scrambling and scavenger hunt) with great enthusiasm.

The gale force winds on the last day certainly made it entertaining watching the staff trying to put away the tents!

In the end it was back to Abbotsholme, tired but happy and ready for a good rest, although many of us are already looking forward to next year!
