Abbotsholme Year 11 pupil, Olivia Owen-Sinclair, competed in the Shropshire Ladies Foil last week and came first.
Olivia, from Wem, Shropshire, competed in the foil discipline in a closed fencing competition pool of mixed age, ability to gain this prestigious title for the second time at only 15 years of age.Fencers came from local and regional fencing clubs to compete along with other schools like Shrewsbury and Wrekin.
Olivia started learning fencing aged 8 and has loved the sport ever since.
“This is the second time I have won this competition, but it is still exciting to win it and I am glad all the hard work has paid off.”
“My next competition is the West Midlands British Youth Championships in January, so I now practicing hard for that.”
