Former pupil, Alex Shermer who left in 2008, and who secured a job as an electrical buyer with Jaguar Abbotsholme graduate landroverLandrover, has just been awarded a coveted company prize for diversity and inclusion and developing external relationship in the business.

22-year-old Alex, who has only been as Jaguar Landover for 15 months and is already handling multi million pound accounts, found out that she was one of a few people nominated for the award which her line manager felt she should be recognised for.

“I was really surprised and incredibly happy to receive this award and to be recognised for the work I am doing.”

“I was unable to receive the award since I was in the middle of an exam for my Chartership for Purchasing and Supplying which about 80% of purchasing jobs require.”

She added, “My job really pushes me to the limits and challenges me everyday, however my time at Abbotsholme juggling lots of different activities, teamworking and being pushed to the limits on the various outdoor expeditions I completed certainly prepared me for the role.”

“You don’t realise it at the time, but being pushed to try new things at Abbotsholme and to be challenged builds your confidence and really prepares you for life after Abbotsholme in which venturing into the unknown and trying new things is an everyday occurrence.”
