Abbotsholme School Lambing Spring Cute LambsAbbotsholme is welcoming some new additions to the school with the arrival of lambs.

The lambing season begins in a few weeks’ time, and after half term Abbotsholme pupils will be put on a rota to look after the lambs and help with lambing. Pupils sleep in a nearby barn to watch over the sheep and to help with lambing around the clock.

Abbotsholme has a 70 acre working farm with British white cows, pigs, chickens, goats, ducks, turkeys (at Christmas), and lambs. It also has an equestrian centre with over 15 horses, as well as a manege.

Abbotsholme is inviting local primary school pupils to the School to come and have a look – and hold – the lambs.

If you think your pupils would enjoy a visit to see and hold the lambs, Abbotsholme is organising school visits, each lasting 90 minutes, throughout March during the weekdays in the morning or afternoon at either 10am or 2.30pm.

School groups would be welcomed at Abbotsholme, before going to see the lambs on our farm. This will be followed with a quick stop to view our equestrian centre as well as other areas of interest including the Dingle and Rock Climbing Wall. Refreshments in the dining room will bring the visit to a close.

If you and your school would like to take up this offer for up to twenty pupils per group, then please do contact Hannah Akers on 01889 594 289 or email hannah.akers@abbotsholme.co.uk

Abbotsholme School is holding its next Open Day on Saturday March 14th from 9.30am – 4.30pm. Please do contact Michele Archer on 01889 594 265 or email: Michele.archer@abbotsholme.co.uk for more information or to book a place.
