Badminton girls hold ‘Trashion Show' in aid of local hospiceGirls aged 3 to 11 years had been designing costumes using a variety of recycled materials including plastic bags, newspaper, bottle tops, old clothes and packaging. Influences for their designs ranged from Lady Gaga and Katy Perry to fairytale princesses and model Kate Moss.

The ‘Trashion Show’, as it has been named, was compered by Heart FM presenter Paulina Gillespie and attracted over 250 people.

The Children’s Hospice South West also took an assembly at Badminton Junior School to talk to the children about the charity and attended on the night at the event.

Head of the Junior School Emma Davies said: ‘The Trashion Show has been a very exciting event that has helped raise much needed funds and awareness of the wonderful work of the Children’s Hospice – one of Bristol’s major local charities.

'The girls and their parents really went to town on making some fantastic costumes, and the creativity has been astounding. We have a very strong community here at Badminton, and our parents are really supportive of the School and have gone out of their way to help organise the show and make it a memorable occasion.’
