The leading girls’ school, well known for its friendly atmosphere, strong community spirit and small class sizes has been completely re-designing its Early Years Foundation Stage area this summer, creating new, bright and spacious classrooms, with lots of creative play equipment and areas for directed learning. A new outdoor classroom area has also been created, where girls in Little Acorns (as the new pre-reception class will be called), Reception and Year 1 will be able to play together and learn skills more suited to an outdoor environment.

As all Badminton’s sports facilities are on site, the Little Acorns will, in addition, be swimming twice a week, enjoying music, dance and drama and will have their own special events.

As well as being part of a larger school environment, with the opportunity to mix with girls of different ages, Little Acorns will also be able to play in the school’s adventure playground at break and lunchtimes.

Said Head of the Junior School, Emma Davies: “As a busy mother myself, I am only too aware of the pressures that parents face. Many parents have bright little girls who are ready for the school environment early and need extra stimulation and excellent teaching and this is something that we can offer here. I have been at Badminton for two terms now as Head and am constantly looking towards the future and thinking of ways to develop and extend the Junior School. I have already increased our after school provision and, from September, the Juniors will have the choice of even more extra curricular activities such as horse riding, orienteering, cooking, ballet and film making.

“We are holding an open day on Wednesday 6 October 2010 for parents who are interested in their daughters starting at Badminton and I warmly welcome anyone who is interested to come and see what we have to offer.”

Rising three year olds can come to Badminton either fulltime or for half days with a minimum of four sessions a week. In addition, for those needing holiday care, Kings Camp runs summer and Easter recreational courses at Badminton for children from three years old.
