Cobham Hall Lily Maisy Cross Country StarsCobham Hall girl Maisy Rose became the Kent Schools Cross Country Champion for Year 7 in mid-January, beating a field of 94 other runners.

She won her race convincingly, with 17 second gap between her and the second placed runner.

Maisy’s win is the latest in a series of successes for the young cross country star.

She claimed the Kent Cross Country Championship U13 title at the beginning of January, racing against girls up to almost two years older than her. She performed well in Kent League Cross Country races in late 2014, with two top two finishes in three races. She also finished 4th out of 233 runners in the Junior Knole Run in November.

Lilly Gibbs, Year 8, also did well in the Kent Schools Cross Country Championships, finishing 18th out of 106 runners in the Year 8 and 9 race. She also competed in the Kent Cross Country Championships earlier in January, gaining 10th place. She was 15th in the Junior Knole Run.

Lilly has successfully qualified for the British Modern Biathlon Championships in the U13 division, to be held in March after strong performances in the regional heats and national final for the British Modern Biathlon Championships held late last year. She will be joined at the championship in March by fellow Cobham Hall girl, Holly, Year 7, who has qualified for the U12 event.
