Culford School have had some outstanding tennis results in recent weeks competing in various National Schools Competitions.

The senior pupils, with players aged 14 to 18, took part in the most prestigious LTA Schools competition of the year: the Aegon Team Tennis School National Championships Final, where the top sixteen boys’ and girls’ teams in Great Britain competed at Queenswood School, Hertfordshire. Both boys’ and girls’ teams played superbly to finish fourth and fifth respectively.

A team of 12 younger pupils, aged 11 to 13, travelled to the IAPS (Independent Association of Prep Schools) Nationals held at Millfield School. After a great performance, Laurie Cruickshank and Georgia Parker won the Under 14s Girls’ Doubles shield. This is the 13th IAPS National Tennis title Culford have won since 2008.

Finally, at the Independent Schools National Championships at Eton College, Year 11 pupils Oscar Cutting and Charlie James reached the Final of the Under 15 Boys event.

Director of Tennis, David Hall, said “We are delighted to have this level of success at National Championships. It is testament to the hard work that the players have put in throughout the year that they can perform when it really matters and against the best players in the country”.
