The MCC met the Dollar Academy 1st XI for their annual cricket match at Dollar on Thursday 24th May.
Founded in 1787, MCC is the world’s most famous cricket club, owning Lord’s and having long been responsible for the laws of the game. Several Dollar Academy former pupils are members of the MCC club and the fixture at Dollar has become an annual event.
Dollar Academy Former Pupil, MCC Captain and Scotland Internationalist Sanjay Patel commented: “It has been a pleasure for us to compete against Dollar Academy’s 1st XI today. The school’s cricket grounds are in magnificent condition and today’s weather has been tremendous. This is a fixture that we look forward to each year. It made me very proud to return to my former school with the MCC team to play such a closely fought game and to receive such great hospitality”.
The game ended in a well-matched draw.
