Students at ACS Cobham International School recently received their highly anticipated International Baccalaureate (IB) exam results. Sixty one students all received their diplomas – a 95% pass rate – with forty-five per cent of students receiving Grade 6 and 7. These are the equivalent of grades A and A* at A-Level, and all the more impressive given that we have a non-selective cohort.

Students from ACS Cobham will be going on to study at leading universities around the world, and Craig Worthington, IB co-ordinator at ACS Cobham commented:

“This year’s graduates have been a tremendous example to others in the school, and the IB results show how academically they have raised the standard at ACS Cobham once again. Students have worked so hard over the past two year’s and I’m delighted to see so many of them achieve results they thoroughly deserve.”

In the run up to the IB Results, ACS International School published the results of research that shows the IB is highly respected amongst university admissions officers in the UK. In particular UK university admissions officers rate the IB above A-Levels for encouraging independent inquiry, a skill 49 per cent of officers said they prized above any other post-16 exam quality.

The annual report published for the seventh year running also revealed that admissions officers are looking at much more contextual data on each application they received.
