Farlington Prep Sports FestivalFarlington hosted their annual Sports Festival for Year 5 girls on Wednesday 13th May. The sun shone and the pupils from Park Mead Primary, Loxwood Primary, Cranleigh Church of England Primary, Greenway Academy and Farlington had great fun trying out, what proved to be for some, new activities.

The afternoon was run by the Year 10 Sports Leaders group. This course gives the opportunity for pupils to develop a range of leadership skills which will be useful both in a sporting environment and in life in general. The Farlington Sports Leaders displayed excellent organisational, communication and leadership skills ensuring that all those involved had a fun-filled and safe afternoon of sport.

The event started with an endurance race of 600m.  A wide range of activities followed with the girls moving from station to station trying their hand at a wide range of skills including hurdles, striking a rounders ball, scoring goals in hockey and netball, and jumping. All of the teams were competing for gold in each activity.

It was great afternoon of fun with an immense amount of talent on show from all the schools involved – hopefully everyone had the chance to try something new, but most importantly everyone they all enjoyed the experience.
