Judges award points for the difficulty and the quality of the manoeuvre. This is the second time Lloyd has represented Britain at an international event; he placed 12th in the Europa Cup in Switzerland in January.
Lloyd said before he went, “I’m really looking forward to competing in such an interesting country. I’ve never met anyone who has been to Belarus. It is my GCSE year but luckily this event is during half-term.”
Lloyd was the only British entry at the competition and performed against top level skiers but made a good impression on the judges, placing 13th. He performed a layout somersault and a full twisting somersault at the new purpose built arena near Minsk.

His father and coach Robin Wallace said, "This is a very encouraging result considering Lloyd is a junior and is competing against seniors of Olympic level."

Lloyd, a former gymnast, has combined his acrobatic background with strong skiing skills to make his mark on this exciting young sport.

He has been training ski aerials for the past 3 summers in Switzerland and Canada where 'water ramps' enable you to practice the acrobatic manoeuvres into a huge swimming pool. Already being called the ‘Tom Daley of skiing’ Lloyd is looking to qualify for the 2014 and 2018 Olympics. He has been invited to train with the World Champion Canadian Team in Quebec in July.

Freestyle Skiing has been an Olympic sport since 1992, where his mother, Jilly, took 4th for Great Britain.
