The students have landed, the entries are in and the judges have decided… It’s time to announce the winners of our 2015 Jumping for Joy Competition – A Level round.
Our judges entered a period of intense deliberation, where they judged our entries on the following criteria:
- Height of jump
- Smile/grin whilst jumping
- Holding results paper whilst jumping
- Number of limbs involved and angle of leg bends
- Arm(s) raised/and or fist pump
- Originality
Before we announce the winners, we’d like to hand out a few special mentions to those schools whose effort could not go unmentioned.
Special mentions
Most Symmetrical Pose
The girls at St Mary’s Calne were commended for an impressively choreographed trio of jumpers.
Best Invisible Trampoline
Ratcliffe College won a special mention for an impressive team effort with huge enthusiasm all round!
Most Bemused Staff Member
Ryde School deserve a mention for their fantastic jumping and a proud/bemused head in the middle!
Ready, Teddy, Go!
Queen Margaret’s School York subjected their adorable QM Teddy to a celebratory hurl skywards and won a special mention

And now for the winners…
Third Place
St Peters School, York took third place with two entries; including named poses such as “Christmas elf” and the rather worrying “vertical sad superman” a Highly Commended effort by all concerned.
Second Place
Queens College, Taunton take second place with specific mention for the sporty spring from the boy on the left. Brilliantly executed.
The 2015 A Level Jumping for Joy Champion
Bedales School take our top spot with the most creative and athletic leap of the year. This ticked all our boxes and was undoubtedly the outstanding winner.
Thomas actually celebrated his 18th birthday on results day with three A*s in Dance, French and Psychology and an A in Mathematics; he is going on to study Dance at The Place, London.
As champion, Thomas wins a £50 Amazon voucher. We wish him all the best for the future.
