As 2015 is a year of the Ashes, there was heightened interest in the players of the U19 series. Mason explains: “Going to Australia with the England U19s was a huge honour. I will never forget being awarded my cap and representing my country. It was a great experience, training with the best players from England in my age group and testing myself against probably the best side in the world in such challenging conditions. It’s moved my game forwards massively and I really hope I can continue representing England in the future.”

The England Squad played the U19 Australians, in a two day warm-up, followed by six matches. It was an inspirational experience for Mason, who is determined to follow a career in cricket.
