Lancing College - Hugh Dennis with the BBC production crewPresenter/ comedian Hugh Dennis, and a BBC production crew, visited Lancing College and Lancing College Chapel for an entire day to film footage for his new series, ‘The Great British Countryside’. The four episodes of his series each focus on the landscapes of different areas of Britain: the South Downs, Yorkshire, Devon & Cornwall and the Scottish Highlands.

The BBC crew began filming at the school’s weekly Chapel service, which Hugh Dennis attended. Jeremy Tomlinson, Secretary of the Friends of Lancing College Chapel, was interviewed, and gave Hugh Dennis a tour of the Chapel, including a visit to the Chapel roof. Hugh and his colleagues were particularly interested to learn that the Chapel was built from local sandstone and chalk from the South Downs; and the crew filmed some impressive and unusual footage, as they flew a ‘skybot’ camera through and above the Chapel.
