Monkton Prep is the “Most Successful School” at the National Biathlon

Monkton School Prep Biathlon WinnersMonkton Prep School has gained a reputation for being the most successful school at a national level after finishing the competition with another series of outstanding performances at the National Schools Biathlon Championships.

Hosted at the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park sports complex in London the school pupils performed to an extremely high standard. During the winners’ announcements Monkton Prep was introduced as “our most successful school”, reflecting the reputation the school has earned from the series of national wins over the last few years.

The U10 and U13 boys’ teams both won bronze and the U11 team won gold to become National Champions. Individually congratulations go to William Mitchell who achieved the fastest swim, Archie Carr who came 4th in the overall competition and Lawrence Martindale who came first in the competition, so claiming the title of National Champion. These are some spectacular results for the school.

Headmaster at Monkton Prep, Mr Andrew Marshall-Taylor, commented: “Since becoming Head here at Monkton Prep just over a year ago, I have seen the pupils achieve a series of outstanding results in both county and national arenas. The pupils continue to impress me with their drive and performance at such a high level. – we are all very proud of them.”

Monkton Prep have also qualified for some further national sporting competitions. The U11 boys team have qualified for the English Primary Schools National Relay finals. Seven individual pupils and the U11 and U13 boys relay teams have all qualified to compete in the IAPS National swimming finals.
