Burgess Hill students at a fashion show at Galeries Lafayettes in ParisIt will provide a wonderful opportunity to combine high performance tennis with an excellent full-time education at the school, which caters for boys and girls aged three to eighteen. The centre has been built in partnership with the Lawn Tennis Association (LTA) and Sport England.

The four indoor courts, together with the existing six outdoor courts, means that Culford can offer all-year tennis facilities for pupils and the local community.

Headmaster Julian Johnson-Munday said: ‘This is an exciting time for tennis at Culford. Tennis membership at the Culford Sports and Tennis Centre is flourishing, the new championship-standard indoor tennis centre will soon be open, and we have some of the best LTA qualified coaches in the country teaching here. With the Tennis Scholarship Programme at Culford School, we will be serving up the next generation of tennis stars who need to combine a first class education with first class coaching.’

As well as providing excellent facilities for Culford School tennis players, 150 children and adults from the community play at Culford every week and over the last two years, the Culford Tennis Development Programme has been working closely with the Bury School Sport Partnership in six key primary and middle schools, offering tennis coaching to over 1,000 children a year.
