Plymouth College Sport Baccalaureate Student Gets Top Marks

Plymouth College Sport Baccalaureate Pupil

Plymouth College student, Harry Preston, has achieved the highest possible grade of Distinction star/Distinction star/Distinction star (D*D*D*) in the BTEC Extended Diploma in Sport (Outdoor Adventure). Top athlete, Harry, recently won a bronze medal for Great Britain at the European Triathlon Championships in Geneva.  He is going to Exeter University to read Exercise and Sports Science.

Close behind was Jacob Kingscott with Distinction star/Distinction star/Distinction (D*D*D).  Jacob is a keen rugby player and has played for Devon.

The overall pass rate was 100%.

As part of the Sport Baccalaureate course the students gained a range of additional qualifications including National Pool Lifeguard, First Aid, PADI open water diving, and awards in Hill Walking, Paddling, Mountain Biking and Climbing.

“Very well done to all our Sport Baccalaureate students”, said Headmaster, Jonathan Standen.  “They have not only got an academic qualification that is equivalent to three A Levels but also a range of practical skills such as leadership and coaching.”
