England's Rugby Coach, Stuart Lancaster, took time out from his busy RBS 6 Nations 2013 schedule to visit Queen Ethelburgas england rugbypupils and sports staff at our new fitness suite.

Still celebrating the success of second place for England in the international competition, Mr Lancaster was impressed by the new £1 million facility and the opportunities it will bring to help students stay at the peak of their sporting abilities.

He said the school had some of the best facilities he had ever seen and that children must feel it a real privilege to come to QE.

Talking about his own sporting triumphs as both a player and coach he spoke to the students about the importance of performing at their very best and being part of a team: Team spirit comes before performance. How you work well as a team fundamentally leads to Queen Ethelburgas visit rugby england captinwhether you win or not.

Head of Rugby at QE and former Leeds Carnegie hooker Rob Rawlinson said it was a real honour to have the England coach at the school and that his motivational speech to students would be something he would remind his squad players about in the forthcoming rugby fixtures:

Stuart really summed up the importance of being a good team player and having mental and physical toughness to be the best player you can be.

It was great not just for the pupils to learn from him and his experience but for our staff to get to speak to him too, especially as Stuart started his career teaching PE!
