Despite being many years younger than her competitors, Evangeline received overwhelming praise from the adjudicators and audience for her performance on the Salvi concert harp, which had been kindly loaned to her for the evening.  Following the competition, Evangeline was approached regarding the possibility of playing with several orchestras who do not have a live harpist of their own.

Headmaster Dr Sweetman said, “We are very proud of having Evangeline in the school and of her success.  The harp is a very unusual instrument for such a young girl to play, and to play to such an excellent standard is testament to her talent and hard work.  For an eleven year old to beat off much older competition is success indeed and we look forward to watching her progress.”
