Rydal Penrhos Community Choir Pancreatic Cancer Charity ConcertA concert given by the Rydal Penrhos Community Choir in memory of a local man has raised just over £700 in aid of Pancreatic Cancer UK.

In an evening packed with the full range of music, from the Renaissance to Rodgers and Hammerstein and from Opera to Bacharach, there were fantastic choral performance from the Community Choir and Rydal Penrhos senior school choir. There were also some beautiful solo pieces performed by adult performers from the Community Choir and some of the talented soloists from Rydal Penrhos School.

The concert was given in memory of Colwyn Bay father of three, Harold Martin Swindells, who lost his battle with pancreatic cancer in October last year. At the end of the concert, Mr Swindells’ wife, Gaz Jabeen, spoke very movingly about her husband and the kind of man he was. She also highlighted some of the early signs of pancreatic cancer to raise awareness of this terrible disease.

“It’s been an honour to have Rydal Penrhos Community Choir present a beautiful concert in aid of Pancreatic Cancer UK and in memory of my husband,” Ms Jabeen said, “We were very moved by the love of this choir supporting such a great cause with great passion.”
