18-year-old pupil at St Swithun’s School, Winchester, Leonora Tomlinson, achieved a top ten position in her category at the 2016 World Sport Stacking Championships in Speichersdorf, Germany in April.Leonora - St Swithuns

The two day competition consisted of a first day preliminary round followed by finals on day two. Over 250 stackers competed in different age categories and different events where they race to stack official-sized cups in a pre-selected pattern in the fastest times.

Leonora gained a top ten place in the preliminary rounds to achieve a place in the finals for her division. She then achieved 7th place overall, following her three stacking attempts for each event, consisting of different stacking patterns and numbers of cups.

Leonora has subsequently been selected to represent GB at the Madrid Open – European Sport Stacking event next month for which she is hoping to gain sponsorship.

She and a fellow team member are organising the UK National Championships in the summer which they hope will take place at a venue in Winchester.
