SJS_4772 DSC_0176King’s College student Sarah Hill is a genuine all-rounder. Not only is she a highly talented footballer, who is involved with the England age groups, but she also took a lead role in the school’s Christmas production of Twelfth Night.

The 17-year-old, who hails from Langport, joined King’s in September with the specific intention of developing her football – and it has certainly worked out that way.

Sarah, who plays as a striker for King’s, also plays for Yeovil Town Ladies and was recently selected for the England U19s.

“I have been kept pretty busy, what with playing and training for both King’s and Yeovil Town, in addition to which I have been called up to be involved with the England Under 19s at St George’s Park where the facilities and the atmosphere are great.  It’s just so fantastic that I have been able to experience that.

“I was first involved with England when I was 12 and from there I was invited to attend elite performance camps, which led to the full U17 training camps, so I have been part of the set-up since Year 9. It has been a good journey for me so far.

“As soon as I turned 16 I signed a contract with Yeovil Town Ladies and I am now involved with the first team set-up, which is a great experience – going up to play against Liverpool and Arsenal where I scored a goal. My coach at Yeovil has also been playing me in FA Cup matches and also the Continental Cup, which is really good.”

Sarah talked about her other big area of interest.

“I really enjoy singing and drama as well so it was great to be involved with the production of Twelfth Night at King’s just before Christmas; it was something really special.”

However Sarah is now coming to a time in her life when she needs to decide about the next stage in her education and feels very much that King’s has helped her in this respect.

“I would like to go to university in America and I have been talking to coaches over there about a sports scholarship with my football to study philosophy and drama.”

Chris Heayns, Director of Football at King’s said: “Sarah is a top quality footballer and also a very talented music and drama student at King’s, all of which will help her to achieve her goal of going to university in America.”
