Strathallan School Pipe Band T in the ParkStrathallan School’s Pipe Band has been invited to play at this year’s T in the Park at the aptly named venue, Strathallan Castle.

The pipers and drummers will be welcoming the festival goers as they arrive through the main entrance each day and Sixth Form pupil Harry Richards has been given the honour of closing the show playing ‘Flower of Scotland’ after the headline act, Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds, on the Sunday evening.

Strathallan’s piping instructor Craig Muirhead said ‘This is an amazing opportunity for the pupils and one which they are all very excited about.  The Band really enjoys playing at different types of events both traditional and contemporary and I encourage this.  Last September we were invited to perform two numbers with the Red Hot Chilli Pipers at their concert in Perth, next week we will be at T in the Park, then in September we will be playing with the Atholl Highlanders Pipe Band at the Welcoming Ceremony of the European Horse Trials at Blair Castle.  It’s been a great year for the Band and I have really enjoyed working with this talented group of musicians.’
