chinese visitorsTwenty-six young people from China spent the day at Sibford School in Oxfordshire in January to find out more about the English education system.

The students, all aged between 12 and 14, currently attend two junior high schools in Foshan in the central Guangdong province.

They spent the day in the company of Sibford pupils and took part in lessons including Drama, Maths, ICT, Music, Pottery and Games.

Sibford student Devon Perry, age 12, said: “They were really friendly and their English was pretty good. They taught us how to say hello in Chinese and also told us something about their own schools which was really interesting.”

The Chinese children were accompanied by two of their teachers and two representatives of education exchange specialists, Foshan Golden Key. The visit to Sibford was part of a 10-day excursion which also took in Oxford, London, Manchester and York. The pupils will be returning home in time for the Chinese New Year which takes place on Monday 8 February.
