A pupil at Wellington School has won a National championship in an unusual sport and adds to his hoard of titles.

Year 10 pupil Theo Ling has triumphed yet again in his chosen sport – clay pigeon shooting. On Saturday, he won the English U16s Olympic Trap championship at the Nuthampstead shooting ground. At the same competition he was runner up in the U21s. (despite being only 15!). His brother Ed Ling won the English Overall title and his wife Abbey won the English Ladies title – quite a family achievement – well done to all of you!

Theo has previously won two at the European Clay Pigeon Shooting Championships an at 13, was one of the youngest competitors to make the Great Britain team.

He has been shooting since he was 8 and is the brother of Ed Ling, who competed for Great Britain in the London 2012 Olympics and has won the World and European Championships. His father, Stephen Ling, was a GB Olympic coach and has been training his boys enthusiastically.
