WESTONBIRT CONGRATULATES GCSE ‘SUPERSTARS’!

The girls and staff at Westonbirt School are today celebrating outstanding GCSE results, with:-

• 25% A* grades
• 61% A*-A grades
• 86% A*-B grades
• 97% A*-C grades

Local girls were among the highest achievers, including:-

Isabel Yerburgh from Nailsworth, Gloucestershire 10A*s, 2As

Alexandra Luddington from Tetbury, Gloucestershire 9 A*s, 3As

Sophie Falkenburg from Uley, Gloucestershire 9 A*s, 1A

Lucy Fenn from Mere, Wiltshire 7A*s, 3As

Laura Snape from Trowbridge, Wiltshire 6A*s, 4As

Fiona Vincent from Corsham, Wiltshire 8A*s, 3As, 1B

Saskia Burden from Wotton-Under-Edge, Gloucestershire 8A*s, 2As, 2Bs

While the grades were high across all subjects, Chemistry, Physics, Music and Spanish excelled, with 100% A* and A grades. 100% A*-B grades were also awarded in Biology, Latin, PE and Textiles.

Westonbirt School is well regarded for its academic and all-round excellence and the GCSE results are consistently high, with this year marking the best to date.

Headmistress, Mary Henderson, commented:
“We are delighted for all the girls who have worked consistently hard to achieve these outstanding GCSE results. The staff are committed to ensuring that every girl reaches her full potential and these results demonstrate both the girls’ dedication and the high quality of the teaching at Westonbirt. We are looking forward to welcoming the girls back to begin their A level studies.”
