Small classes mean that teachers know their pupils well; they give time to those that need help, and challenge the most able so that all achieve their full potential. A broad curriculum A wide range of subjects is taught up to GCSE, and 23 A-level courses are on offer. Sixth-formers benefit from individual training in pronunciation to build confidence in spoken English. Girls from overseas can choose to come one to three terms early to develop their language skills before beginning examination courses. The after-school clubs and weekend activities programme provide further opportunities for pupils to explore their talents. Academic results are consistently high, with Beechwood recently placed in the top 5% of schools in England for A-level university points.

Obese Prince gets more than he bargained for!
This term senior pupils from Beechwood Sacred Heart School, Tunbridge Wells presented the comedy “Battle Royal” by Nick Stafford-Clark. This witty play charts a fascinating chapter in the history of the British monarchy - full of scandals, press intrusion, illicit affairs, overspending and political meddling. It centres around George, the Prince Regent in 1795, who is put under pressure to marry, and thus relieve himself of his many debts, and produce an heir. The tempestuous marriage between George and Caroline, his outspoken wife, has often been paralleled with that of Charles and Diana!

This term, Beechwood Sixth Form took part in exercises designed to improve teamwork. A presentation helped students to understand the different roles within a team, and each student took part in the PRISM profiling system to see how their personalities reflected their roles.

Admissions information
Boarders may join the school at any age 11 – 16, dependent on availability of places. Academic, art, drama, music, and sport scholarships are offered at age 11 and 13, and academic scholarships are available into the Sixth Form at age 16.
