An outstanding location

Combining girls-only boarding with a co-educational day school, Beechwood is located in 23 acres of landscaped grounds near the centre of historic Royal Tunbridge Wells, one hour by train from London.
A homely atmosphere
Students always comment on their warm welcome and how easy it is to settle in and make friends at Beechwood. Our Christian Catholic ethos forms the basis for our code of behaviour in which every person is valued and treated as an individual. Founded in 1915 by the Society of the Sacred Heart, Beechwood welcomes pupils of all religions.
‘The quality of pastoral care, support and guidance is outstanding.’

Friendly, supportive teaching
Small classes mean that teachers know their pupils well; they give time to those that need help, and challenge the most able so that all achieve their full potential. The highly successful Learning Development Department has an ‘open door’ policy, which means that any pupil can find help with learning or study problems.
‘The standard of teaching is good, largely due to teachers’ detailed knowledge of the pupils, and the excellent relationships between staff and pupils.’
