Luckley-Oakfield – inspiring young minds
Luckley-Oakfield provides an all-round high-quality educational experience, where each student encounters rich and varied opportunities through which to develop her passions, skills and self-confidence. Christian values underpin our community life and we aim to engender in our girls a sense of responsibility and an attitude of warmth and open generosity towards each other. We consider pastoral care to be paramount because every girl is important. All girls have daily contact with their form tutor, who takes a close interest in their academic and social welfare.
The perfect location for boarders
The School is set in beautiful Berkshire countryside with outstanding grounds and facilities, including modern classrooms, comfortable and homely boarding accommodation, a state-of-the-art Music Centre, spacious art studios, large Sports Centre with extensive playing fields, cross-country tracks, netball and tennis courts and an indoor swimming pool. The School is the perfect location for boarders, with easy access to main airports (Heathrow is 40 minutes and Gatwick 1 hour by car) and close to main railway stations. Wokingham is a happy and safe place to live. It is a small market town, with an array of shops, cafés and restaurants, and the centre only a 15-minute walk from the School. London is a 45-minute train ride away and Windsor, Reading, Ascot and many other places of historical and cultural interest are nearby.

In the classroom
We hold high expectations for all students to achieve excellent academic results and are proud of our exceptional added-value record. Our small class sizes ensure that each pupil receives the individual attention she needs to really progress in her studies.
Beyond the classroom
Extracurricular activities include School-based clubs and hobbies, such as art, music, drama, candle-making and fun cooking; sports clubs and fixtures; and exciting outdoor education activities such as adventure trail, polo, horse riding, and participation in the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award Scheme and the Combined Cadet Force.
Entry requirements
Applicants are required to sit an entrance examination and attend an interview with the Headmistress. Means-tested bursaries are available and scholarships are offered for academic achievement, sports, art and music at Year 7 entry. Scholarships are also available at Year 12 entry.
"At Luckley-Oakfield, we are small enough to care about each individual girl, but big enough to provide them with the challenges they need to succeed."

Welcome from the Headmistress
Luckley is a day and boarding school with much to offer and we would welcome the opportunity of showing it to you and your daughter. I would like to share a little of the secret of our success with you……
At Luckley we encourage high aspirations, independent thinking and community spirit. Each girl in our care experiences a truly holistic education developing her academic, cultural, creative, physical and spiritual dimensions.
I am proud of the excellent academic results our girls achieve year on year. Our exceptional value added record reflects the fact that at Luckley every girl is important. We are a thriving and welcoming community. Our size ensures that every girl is provided with the right balance of challenge and support, at the right time and in the right quantity. High academic standards are underpinned by an ethos of concern for others and a strong sense of human worth. Our inspirational teachers and expanding facilities support a wide-ranging and varied curriculum. At Luckley we recognise the importance of a flexible approach to boarding to meet the needs of our parents’ modern lifestyles. A number of opportunities are available, including ad hoc nights and termly packages as well as weekly and full boarding. Girls leave Luckley not only with excellent qualifications, but self-confidence, a sense of purpose and lasting friendships.
Please contact the Registrar, Mrs Cope registrar@luckley.wokingham.sch.uk to make an appointment to visit us or to request some literature about our school.
