The course
Our Global Young Leaders (GYL) course, now in its fifth year, combines English lessons with debating and critical thinking. The course is aimed at students with an upper-intermediate or advanced level of English. The public speaking and debating activities are led by our mentors who are experienced debating coaches from top universities including Oxford and Cambridge. The school’s Interactive Learning Centre is a world-class lecture theatre ideally suited to the nature of this course.
Location
The School is fortunate to own such extensive green spaces (128 acres) just over an hour from central London: a secure and tranquil rural setting within an hour of Heathrow and 30 minutes of Gatwick Airport.
Catering/accommodation
Catering is of a high standard, with full English breakfast and a good selection of hot meals and salads available at lunch and dinner. Bed change and laundry service are provided once a week and bedrooms are cleaned on a daily basis.
The mentors were great and made it easy for students to do debating in a foreign language. The course really had a positive impact on me.
