Cobham Hall Rising Sports Stars
Cobham Hall pupil, Georgia

What do West Ham Football Club, British Triathlon and England Hockey all have in common?  A Cobham Hall girl training with them.

Cara, Year 9, has been selected for the U16s West Ham team.  This came as a pleasant surprise to Cara and her family after she had successfully been placed on the Arsenal Ladies Reserves list following trials there.  West Ham scouts contacted her offering her the chance to try out for them, and subsequently offered her a place on the team.  Cara begins her training with them in August.

It’s already been a busy Summer for Lilly, Year 8.  She’s taken part in three British Triathlon qualifying races and a Duathlon as well.  With fantastic results in each, she’s reached the top four; three girls will race and one is a reserve.  The panel are still deliberating so it’s an anxious wait to find out if she’ll be one of the three who race!

Finally, Georgia, Year 12 is moving through the England Hockey Single System, and is currently at a Junior Regional Performance Centre, undergoing a series of intense training sessions.  Georgia, part of Kent’s successful U17s team, said of the training, “I’m acutely aware of the increase in standard, and of my youth to the sport in comparison to others.  Despite feeling slightly out of place, I hope that my tenacity, perseverance and ability to push through pain shall help me continue to improve my performance.”

We’re incredibly proud of our sports stars!
