Abbots Bromley girls GCSEsAbbots Bromley School has been through a year of radical changes and therefore is especially delighted to announce the enormous improvement in results at GCSE with some subjects gaining 100% pass rate at A* – C Grade: Biology, Physics, Chemistry, French, Spanish, Music, PE, Statistics (Mathematics) and Performing
Arts(Dance) were those subjects where every single girl achieved between A*-C, with Performing Arts (Dance) producing a bumper crop of 16 x A* grades.

Other successes included English Literature (95%), History (92%) and Art (92%) of students gaining A*-C and significant improvements in both Mathematics and English.

All our girls were successful but some girls excelled themselves: Francesca Froggatt (12 xA*/A grades), Alex James (9 x A*/A grades and 3 Bs) and the following girls all achieved more than 10 GCSEs with five or more at A*/A – Emily Bridgewater, Jenny Cripps, Eve Feenan, Georgina Lax and Teresa Simms. Congratulations to everyone.

Similarly, our AS and A2 results last week showed improvements and most of our students have now gained places at the universities of their choice.

Executive Head Victoria Musgrave said ‘This is a testament to the hard work of both the staff and the students over recent months and years. Our girls have been a privilege to teach and since Easter staff have really ‘pulled out all the stops’ with additional catch up classes, revision groups, intervention and individual support. This has obviously paid off. The warm up sessions prior to examinations and study skills sessions all have helped to produce these results.

There are many improvements planned for the school in the forthcoming year with an improved data monitoring and tracking system, a total quality monitoring and performance management protocol for all staff with targets being set for both staff and students and we plan to involve the parents as well as the students in our innovations. Abbots Bromley School is on a journey and we are now in a strong position to move forward to become an outstanding centre of academic excellence. I feel very proud to be part of this fine school during its 140th celebratory year’.
