Wellington_school_flower_photography_exhibitionAn exhibition of outstanding photography by a local artist will be open to the public next week.

“Flowers in Focus” is a display of exquisite and evocative floral imagery which captures the beauty and freshness of the garden.  The photographer, Tracey James is a keen gardener who has cleverly transposed the images of her garden onto canvas and print.

“My love affair with flowers has grown with the garden and I needed to capture the beauty of individual blooms,” commented Tracey.  “Every bloom is a masterpiece in itself – the camera merely captures the moment.  I enjoy seeing the emerging flower, then preserving forever the incredible beauty and complexity of each plant”.

Georgia O’Keeffe, the renowned American artist said, “When you take a flower in your hand and really look at it, it’s your world for the moment. I want to give that world to someone else. Most people in the city rush around so, they have no time to look at a flower. I want them to see it whether they want to or not.”

“This exhibition has come about through the desire to perpetuate and share the beauty I find every day in my own garden” concluded Tracey James.

The Flowers in Focus exhibition at the Archway Gallery, Wellington School, runs from Saturday 8th March for two weeks.

All images can be purchased/ordered either framed or as prints or canvases (subject to size).
