A good week for Rendcomb girls

Grace Knapp ran in the McCain UK Inter-Counties cross country championships at Cofton Park, Birmingham yesterday. This is the main National event for cross country in the UK.

Grace came in 11th position in the U13 girls race out of 302 runners which puts her up with the best runners now in the UK. SKY TV televised the race.

The U15’s had an exceptional showing at the National Schools Lacrosse tournament last Monday. The girls had six guaranteed games to play; they drew one and defeated the rest of the teams.

Notable scalps included Berkhamstead, Bedford and St Swithun’s. The side eventually went out in the semi-finals to Benenden 2-4.

To put these results into perspective, Berkhamstead has 420 girls from 11-18; St Swithun’s has 440 girls aged 11-18, Benenden is a School of 530 girls 11-18 and Bedford has 820 girls 11-18. Rendcomb has 109 girls 11-18.
