Abbots_Bromley_OzberriesEight Abbots Bromley School Year 10 Business Studies students have made it to the regional finals of the Coca Cola Real Business Challenge 2013/14, to be held on Friday 7th February at Pride Park.

In order to reach the finals the girls had to create a healthy drink for a market segment of their choice. Not only did they have to create a healthy drink, they also had to work out the costing’s for marketing, production and a profit and loss account taking into account costs and charitable donations.

“Ozberries” was the creation that sealed their place in the finals. The girls decided upon the idea of combining the flavours of orange and raspberry, chosen because of their particular health benefits, resulting in the catchy product name. In order to come up with this fun and fruity health drink, the girls visited Lichfield to carry out market research on shoppers and from there developed their fun and unique idea.

At the finals in February, the girls will once again have to use their imaginative entrepreneurial skills, as they compete against other schools to complete a task set by Coca Cola. The competition set up by Coca Cola, is designed to develop enterprise skills, not just business skills, as well as incorporating and developing the use of communication, presentation, finance and world/local issues.
