Abbots_Bromley_Pitch_perfectFive Abbots Bromley School Year 10 Business Studies students won ‘The Pitch’ event last week, met the Chairman of Lego Education and received the converted Lego trophy.

The Pitch event organised by Wolverhampton University attracts over 30 schools to the 2 day programme. Here our pupils participated in workshops throughout the day led by University lecturers, motivational speeches led by actors and were set a real life scenario by Lego.

The task for our AB girls was to sell Lego education as an idea to primary schools. To support them with the task, pupils made effective use of their dinner guest – the Chairman of Lego Education by quizzing him at pre dinner drinks and throughout the formal dinner.

The whole 2 day experience came to a climax when the group, who named themselves ‘Pitch Perfect’ had to present their idea to 5 groups of judges, answering challenging questions based upon their Pitch each time. Their confidence, financial understanding and creativity made them clear winners, taking away the ‘Lego’ trophy with pride.

This event enabled pupils to mix with business personnel and also gain an insight into University life. This is the second competitive success for the Year 10 business group led by Miss Murray and will hopefully be the building blocks to success as they use this experience in the classroom and their future studies.
