Dance students at Abbots Bromley School recently put on a fantastic dance and musical theatre performance for Abbots Bromley fellow pupils, parents and visitors showcasing their extraordinary talents in the world of dance.

The performance began with a melody of classical dances from The Nutcracker, featuring pupils from both the Prep and Senior School, culminating in Year 13 student Holly Powell-Main’s beautiful interpretation of the Sugar Plum Fairy.

Holly has been offered a place to continue her dance training at the Royal Academy of Dance, London in September.

The audience were in for a further treat in the second half when the girls took to the stage to perform a selection of musical theatre and modern dance numbers.

Year 13 student Emily Lunt (pictured below), is one several dancers accepted at leading performance colleges for September.

Emily will be continuing her training at Bird College where she has been offered a scholarship. This year’s Year 13 leavers have been offered places at Bird College – London, Lain Theatre Arts – London, Performers College – London, London Studio Centre, Millennium Performing Arts – London and the Royal Academy of Dance – London.

“The performance gave both our vocational and recreational dancers the chance to showcase their exceptional dance skills and I am delighted by how well each pupil performed” said Mr Alkins, Director of Dance. “We have an excellent team of dance teachers who work with the pupils to develop their dance and performance skills to the highest possible standards. This is alongside the excellent academic education available at Abbots Bromley School. We are delighted that so many of our sixth form leavers are intending to continue their vocational training at the very best London Colleges”

The School is offering ‘Chance to Dance’ workshops to pupils from Years 5 – 11 during April. To secure a free place on one of the workshops for Classical Dance, Musical Theatre or both, pupils should contact the school on
