Over fifty Kindergarten pupils from ACS Cobham International School performed their annual penguin assembly for ACS Cobham penguin assemblyparents.

ACS Cobham students prepare for their Penguin performance.

The assembly, which has been running for over a decade, is the culmination of the Kindergarten students’ science and social study of penguins.

Students learn about the penguins’ natural habitat, food chain and behaviour patterns throughout the unit.

Each of the five classes performed a different penguin song or poem including the ‘Penguin Shuffle’ and the song ‘On Top of an Iceberg’, giving students the opportunity to share their knowledge with parents.

All fifty students, dressed in beak caps and white bibs, joined in for the grand finale as they tapped their way through the ‘Penguin Polka’.

Jane Kullmann, Early Childhood Principal, commented:‘This assembly has been running for over ten years and I am always really proud to see the students perform in their penguin costumes.

The Penguin Polka finale is always my favourite part because the children so clearly enjoy singing and performing this piece together – it has such a catchy tune which stays with you all day!”
