The ACS Cobham team saw off 12 teams representing international schools from 7 different nations (the UK, Switzerland, the Netherlands, Egypt, Greece, France and Belgium) in its quest for the gold medal. The final championship match, between ACS Cobham and the International School of Brussels, proved to be a real nail-biter, with ACS Cobham 1-0 down until the last kick of full time provided them with a heart-stopping equaliser. With no further scoring in extra time, the game was eventually decided on penalties, an impressive 4-2 win for a triumphant ACS Cobham.

Michael Ryan, Head of Sport, Leisure and Physical Education at ACS Cobham, commented on the team’s outstanding achievement: ‘This year’s championship ranks as one of the major accomplishments in the history of boys soccer at ACS Cobham. The team lost only twice in 19 matches and won all five matches in the championship tournament to complete a truly outstanding season.’
