The auditions were attended by more than 40 Junior and 40 Senior ballet students from around the North East.

Anthony Croome, a Royal Academy of Dance examiner and tutor and an independent adjudicator, chose Alfreya as one of the 8 lucky students to go forward to the Scholarship Master Class.

Alfreya has attended ballet classes at Polam Hall School since Reception and is taught by Rachel Harrison, an ex-professional dancer.

Alfreya also studies Tap and Modern dance at Polam Hall.

Angela Foster, Polam Hall’s Junior School Head Teacher, said: “Alfreya is an extremely talented dancer and her place at the ballet Master Class was well-deserved.

"Polam Hall has established a reputation for pupils with out-of-school achievements from drama to dance to sport to community and charity work.”
