Budding actors at Bournemouth Collegiate School have this week been show casing their talents and welcoming local Bournemouth Collegiateprimary schools, parents and friends of the school to a new production of Alice in Wonderland.

The young people aged 11-14 have guided the thrilled audiences around the grounds of the school in promenade performances that have taken place in 7 different locations in the school grounds.

Guests have been able to take tea with the Mad Hatter and the March Hare and enjoy sandwiches, cakes and Pims in the sunlit grounds.

Head of Performing Arts, Rhiannon Lawton said, “It’s been a big project that has involved many pupils across the school. There have been some fantastic performances and new talents uncovered. Pupils have also had the opportunity to take the roles of directors, prop makers, make-up artists and publicity for the event. Everything that we have used for the set and costumes has been reused or recycled.”

Miss Lawton continued, “In preparation for the Production, two teams of students have designed and managed their own Workshops which they have hosted for young pupils from Bournemouth Collegiate Prep School and St Katherine’s Primary School. Staff at both schools have also commented on how impressed they have been by the Bournemouth Collegiateprofessionalism shown by the pupils. I am incredibly proud of them all!”
