Seven pupils have excelled in their cricket training and subsequently been selected to take part in the Somerset County Cricket programme

Over 1,000 young cricketers in Somerset took part in the recent Player Pathway Assessment and the standard of the assessments were very high. All Hallows were thrilled that seven of their pupils – William, Harry, Woody, Shona, Scarlett, Alfie and Victor were selected to join the programme.

The aim of the Player Pathway is to provide every individual with the best possible experience and give players the opportunity to develop and challenge themselves. Director of Cricket at Somerset County Cricket Club, Andy Hurry said: “The Player Pathway Plan for 2018/2019 has been tailored to both boys and girls separately to provide every individual with the best possible experience and give players the opportunity to develop and challenge themselves across the winter training and summer match play programmes.”

All Hallows cricket coach Guy Barrow, commented “For seven young pupils to gain selection for the Somerset County Cricket pathway programme is a significant achievement. Each of those selected have been part of the All Hallows’ Cricket Academy, which provides additional coaching to those young pupils with a desire to enhance their cricket education. It is an additional demand on their valuable time but each one is committed and determined to succeed. I am delighted for all of them and I look forward to seeing how they perform at a higher level”.
