Talented musician Frances Gibson has been crowned Ashby Rotary Musician of the Year for the second 
consecutive year.
Frances is presented with her certificate by Sylvia Williams, President of Ashby Castle Rotary Club.
Frances played the Adagio non Troppo movement from Mozart’s oboe concerto to take first place.
She will be joined in the district semi final by flautist Naomi Edwards.
Both girls put on impressive performances against stiff opposition from other local schools.
Judges were unable to fault Frances’s playing, saying: “An excellent performance, great playing, exceptionally high standard – a pleasure to listen to such an enjoyable execution of this piece.”
