Prize-winning public speakers Nancy Heath, Emily Essex and Annabel Lock have done it again – taking the top 
spot in the district semi finals of the Rotary Youth Speaks competition.
The trio – who also won the district semi final last year – were pitted against teams from across the region in the contest at Leicester Grammar School.
Before that, the girls eclipsed opposition from local schools in the first round at Ashby School with their speech on 'The Price of Peace'.
In each round, Annabel acts as chairperson while Nancy is the speaker and Emily gives the vote of thanks.
Margaret Hawksworth, Director of Post-16 Studies at Ashby School, said: "The judges were so impressed that they suggested the girls keep their speech exactly the same in the next round at Kettering."
