Bruton School for Girls Bruton School for Girls welcomes ‘Old Girl’ and teen-fiction author, Sarah Naughton to the school on Friday 7th June.

Sarah’s debut novel ‘The Hanged Man Rises’ – a creepy supernatural thriller set in London, came out in March this year.

Sarah will be giving a short presentation to the girls in Forms 1, 2 and 3 (11 – 13 year olds), on what life would have been like in Victorian London, as well as perform a dramatic reading of an excerpt from her book.

She will talk to the girls about her career journey as an author and hopefully inspire the next generation of writers.

There will be a creative writing workshop, led by Sarah, in which the girls will be produce their own short piece of fictional writing.

To conclude the day, Sarah will be available to sign copies of her book for the girls to take away!

Charlotte Kelley, Librarian said ‘We are thoroughly looking forward to the visit by Sarah and I am confident it will inspire and enthuse our girls to love the world of literature and perhaps write their own novels one day.’
