IMG_7513Cobham Hall Elder and best-selling author Griselda Heppel returned to her old school to mark World Book Day on Thursday 3rd March.

Griselda discussed the inspiration behind her latest book, ‘The Tragickall History of Henry Fowst’ with girls in Years 7 and 8.  The book draws on her memories of school days at Cobham Hall, with the School’s North Tower even featuring in the illustration on the front cover.  Griselda Heppel’s debut novel, ‘Ante’s Inferno’, won the Children’s category of the People’s Book Prize in 2013.

Griselda gave the girls advice about writing and answered their questions before signing copies of her book.  She also joined in Cobham Hall’s World Book Day celebrations by helping to judge the ‘best dressed’ student – each dressed as their favourite book character.

Head of English Miss Stevens explained, “We were thrilled to welcome Griselda back to Cobham Hall.  It’s always delightful to see former students doing so well, and wonderful for current students to get the chance to hear from them.”
