She trains as part of the Team Bath Youth Squad which accepts young swimmers with county qualifying times Olivia, who is the currently the youngest member, has been accepted for their 2010 programme. However, to remain in Team Bath, she will have to achieve more county qualifying times over the next six months.

In addition, Olivia is also a member of Clevedon Swimming Club and collected three trophies at the recent annual awards for her age group .

Said Olivia: “ I am so pleased to be top in the country as I am really competitive and get very frustrated with myself if I don’t beat my times. I train about five times a week at the moment – not just in the pool, but also fitness training and am getting stronger. I met Rebecca Adlington last year and I was so inspired, I want to represent Great Britain in the future. It would be a real honour.”

Said Head of Badminton Junior School, Emma Davies: “Olivia is truly a remarkable swimmer and is extremely determined and dedicated. She is also very popular amongst her peer group and works very hard at school. It is wonderful to see such outstanding results for someone who is still only nine years old.”
