Despite the atrocious weather conditions, the girls played some good, attacking hockey. Right from the off, Bedales were determined to play their way, and refused to let their opponents settle into a rhythm, intercepting passes and ensuring that Portsmouth High School could not clear the ball from their defensive quarter. This game was a fantastic team performance, all players on the pitch worked hard to support each other and work together as a unit, all of which resulted in some stunning shots, many of which were just too good for the PHS Keeper – without whom, it has to be said, the score would have been much higher! Sonia Cartwright, head of Girls PE at Bedales said: "Clearly, the Bedales girls have been training hard, and paying attention to their coaches – the improvement we have seen this season has been phenomenal. It was really great so see them playing so well as a team, and enjoying the game, despite the weather. I hope this results gives them a nice boost for the rest of the season".

Following on from the example set by their younger team-mates, Bedales Girls 1st XI triumphed over Seaford 5-0. Another strong team performance saw the senior girls moving the ball round the pitch with confidence and ease, anticipating great runs from their team-mates and forcing their opponents to work hard to try and retain possession. Despite this wonderful team play, the real highlight of the game were the Bedales short-corner routines. At all times during the routine, the team looked calm and in control, intimidating their opposition with their mixture of clinical strikes and incisive passing. Coach Kevin Boniface said "I'm really proud of the girls' performance today. They've been working so hard, and it is really beginning to show some great results – hopefully, we can keep this form up until the end of the season!"
