Bedales Children fun run fancy dress

Pupils from Bedales Pre-Prep, Dunannie, participated in the School's annual 'fun run' and took to the sports track dressed up for this year's theme as 'minibeasts'. All Year Groups were involved, from Nursery to Year 3, to raise money for the Bedales Swaziland project, which supports education in Swazi schools.

The current project is to extend the facilities of an orphanage that houses children at the Swazi school. In addition, some of the money raised will go to the other School sponsored charity, Hounds for Heroes.

The event provided a wonderful opportunity for children to come together for a good cause in front of an audience of proud parents who also enjoyed a picnic lunch as part of this Summer term occasion. The School's Parents' Association, Friends of Dunannie, also raised funds on the day through a cake sale. The children were all sponsored to do their run and raised over £1,200.

Commenting on the fun run, Dunannie Head, Jo Webbern, said: "The event was very well supported by parents, with some even joining in on a few laps. The children absolutely love the chance to dress up and run for what is a whole school effort to raise money for two very important charities. The children are very proud of the amount they have raised for the Bedales Swaziland project."
